Marjorie A. Hooper, 93, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away, Tuesday, December 18, 2018, in River Street Manor, Wilkes-Barre.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre, on March 19, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Roy and Mildred Van Horn Siegel.
Marjorie was a homemaker most of her life but also worked for a few years at Woolworth's in Wilkes-Barre.
Marjorie was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband Edward J. Hooper of 62 years, who died in 2009. She was the oldest and the last survivor of her siblings, sister, Naomi Pecukonis and brothers, James and Ernest Siegel.
She was a member of Firwood United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre. She had been very active in the senior citizens group and various groups of the church. She loved to travel and hike.
She is survived by and will be sadly missed by daughters, Marilyn Carey and husband, John, Kingston and Marcia Moore and husband, Steve, Hanover Twp. Grandchildren, John Carey and companion, Diana Dove, Dallas, Neal Carey and wife, Tara, Courtdale; Malinda Nealon and husband, John, Plains; Katherine Moore and fiancee Missy Schwoyer, Ashley; great grandchildren, Kayley, Daphne and Ava Carey and John Joseph Nealon IV and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, December, 22, 2018 from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre with Reverend Carol Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas.
Visitation will be Friday, December 21, 2018, from 5 to 7 pm and Saturday morning from 9:00 am until time of service.
