Margaret G. Durko, 80, formerly of Duryea, died Friday morning, February 23, 2018, in Mountain Top Senior Care, Mountain Top.
Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Gallagher Brandenburg and was a graduate of Pittston High School. Margaret was employed as a sewing machine operator in local factories, prior to retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and crossword puzzles. Mrs. Durko was a member of the former St. Peter & Paul Church, Avoca, now Queen of the Apostles.
Margaret was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Paul A. Durko; brothers, Charles and Leo Brandenburg and sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Brandenburg.
She is survived by her sons, Paul Durko and his wife, Paula, Swoyersville; David Durko and his wife, Alison Casey and their sons, David and Christopher Durko; siblings, Bill Brandenburg, Pittston; Ceil Wolfer, Pittston, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, February 26, 2018, at 9:00 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Leo's Holy Rosary Church, 33 Manhattan St. Ashley.
Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Avoca.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday, February 25, 2018 and from 8:30 am until time of service Monday morning.
