Louise Marie Gower, 82, of White Haven, died surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Mountaintop Senior Care.
Born, March 12, 1935 to the late Rose and Charles Skollar, she was a graduate of White Haven High School and business college in Wilkes-Barre. She was an active and dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, having taught CCD and the first communion class for 38 years, and was an extraordinary minister. Her life, rooted in faith and family, was enriched by her community of loved ones.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Edgar A. “Doc” Gower, Sr., her sister Rosalie Simko and her husband Paul, and sister-in-law Belva Meckes.
Surviving are her children and grandchildren: Edgar and Joan Gower, Jr. (Edgar III & Vanessa, Christine & Ryan, Elise & Jamie, and John Xavier); Gregory and Jill Gower (Katie & Steven, and Sarah); Leslie and Richard Della Croce (Natalie & Michael, Leah, Kenneth and Richard); and Charles and Connie Gower (Elizabeth & John, Brendan, Ryan, Patrick, Olivia, Claire, and Sophia). Her beloved great-grandchildren are Rylie, Braden, Brynn, Abby, Alex, Teagan and Liam. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit on Friday, February 9 from 4PM to 7PM at Lehman Family Funeral Service of White Haven and Saturday, February 10 from 10AM to 11AM at St. Patrick’s Church with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11AM. A private family burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
