Leon Ceasar Blakeslee, of Freeland, died at home on Wednesday, October 10, 2018.
Born in Bear Creek Township, he was the son of the late Paul and Henrietta Silfies Blakeslee and served our country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Unions. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and skydiving.
He was preceded in death, in addition from her parents, by sister, Lorraine Silfies.
Leon is survived by his loving wife, Edith A. Butler Blakeslee; children, Valerie Pfeiffer and her husband, Jeffrey, White Haven; son, Leon (Paul) Blakeslee and his wife, Lisa, Penn Forest; Ty Blakeslee, Pocono Lake; Guy Blakeslee and his wife, Heidi, Bear Creek; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Shane, Paige, Cory, Cody, Shawn, Justin; two great grandchildren, Frankie and Maddox; sisters, Linda Morman, Landsdale; Joanne Kerrick, CA; nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service, with Military Honors, will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 am in Blakeslee Cemetery, Route 115, Blakeslee. Funeral Luncheon will follow at McGinley's Pocono Trail Lodge, Blakeslee.
