Kathleen B. Cottrell, of Blakeslee, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018.
She lived in Blakeslee with her late husband, Joseph since 2005 and previously she and her family lived in Somerset, NJ.
She was raised in White Plains, NY, where she met and married her husband, Joe. They were married for 61 and a half years until his death in 2015. She was a lover of the arts and enjoyed many Broadway shows, movies and was a participant in many local theater troupes, including the High Steppers as a dancer. After raising a family of 5 children, she went back to college, graduating from Rutgers University with a B A degree with honors, including Phi Beta Kappa. She was also a member of the Red Hats.
She was a devoted wife and mother always ready to listen, to help, to learn and to laugh. Family gatherings were always filled with warmth and joyous laughter. An avid traveler, she took her daughters on trips to Italy, Ireland, London and Paris.
She is survived by son, Joseph Cottrell and his wife, Sandy; daughter, Kathleen and her husband Mark Mulvihill; son, James Cottrell and his wife, Mary; son, Daniel Cottrell and his wife, Tricia and daughter, Suzanne and her husband, Joe Umar. She is also survived by granddaughter, Jessie Maciel and her husband, Gabe Maciel; granddaughter, Kristen Cottrell and grandson Alex Cottrell and grandsons, Daniel and Dylan Cottrell. She was also great grandmother to Aria and Jayda Maciel. She is also survived by her sister, Frances Stallard and nieces Laura and Donna. Additionally, Kathleen was blessed with the kindest neighbors, Betty, Pat and Ann.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at 9:00 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 403 Berwick St. White Haven, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Patrick’s Church, White Haven. Interment will be in Doylestown Cemetery, Doylestown.
Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, from 4 to 7 pm and from 8:30 am until time of service Wednesday morning.
