Joseph T. Blaum, Sr., 77, of Wilkes-Barre, died Friday evening, January 19, 2018 in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Joseph was the son of the late Charles and Josephine Blaum. He was a graduate of St Nicholas High School, where he excelled in basketball. He attended Local 163 Electrical Trade School and was employed as a Journeyman Electrician in the local union.
Joseph lived his live to the fullest. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, spending time throughout the years fishing in Canada and frequenting the Harvey's Lake Beach Club with his family and friends. He had a passion for sports, especially his favorite football team, the Pittsburg Steelers. Joseph was a loyal member of the Saint Anthony and Saint George Maronite Church. Throughout his life, Joseph had two great loves that exceeded any other, his love for his family and his love of God. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him and loved him.
Joseph was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his daughter, Lisa Ann Blaum; his elder sister, Dorothy Ann St. John and brother, Charles Blaum.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Marie Blaum; daughter, Colleen Yanora and her husband, Kenneth of Wilkes-Barre; son, Joseph Blaum Jr. and his wife Roxanne of Henderson, Nevada; five grandchildren, Samantha, Alexis, Felicia, Mekehl, and Taylor; two great grandchildren, Abrielle and Amelia; brothers, Frank Blaum and John Blaum of Wilkes-Barre; sister, Carol Butler of Finksburg, MD and many loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church, Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 10:00 am; with Father Hanna Karam officiating. Interment will be private in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
