Joan S. Sauers, 79, of White Haven, died Tuesday evening, December 12, 2017, in Mountain Top Senior Care, Mountain Top with family by her side.

Born in Lehigh Tannery, she was the daughter of the late John and Charlotte Becker Ackerman and was a Registered Nurse Supervisor at White Haven Center, prior to retirement.  Joan was an active member of St. Patrick's Church, White Haven and a volunteer at the White Haven Library and for the American Red Cross.  She loved reading, doing puzzles and spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching baseball and liked any team that beat the Yankees.

Joan is survived by her children, Bill Sauers and his wife, Nan, White Haven; Daphne Straub, White Haven; Jill Budda and her husband, John, Freeland; Monica Brown and her companion, Mike Hudson, Wasilla, AK; Linda Lindsey and her husband, Rich, Freeland; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Kevin, Jamie, Jillian, Jocilyn, Sarah; and four great grandchildren, Anakin, Ayden, Nathaniel and Caila. Siblings, Jack Ackerman, AZ; Judy Kalinovich, Freeland; Jean Klinger, Drums; several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Noon at St. Patrick's Church, 411 Allegheny St., White Haven with Reverend Michael Kloton officiating. One hour prior to Mass, friends may gather with family.  Interment will follow in Laurel Cemetery, White Haven.
