Jane A. Richards, of White Haven, died Friday, April 19, 2019, in
Weatherwood Nursing Home, Weatherly.
Born in White Haven, she was the daughter of the late Arlington and Helen Maloy Wall and was a graduate of White Haven High School as Valedictorian of her class. She moved to Washington DC where she worked at the Pentagon during World War II and was married to her husband John. She returned to White Haven to raise her family and worked at RCA as an Engineering Tech.
Jane was a member of White Haven United Methodist Church; former member of the Eastern Star; former member of VFW Auxiliary and, along with her husband John was very active with the veterans of the 4th Marine Division, traveling all over to reunions.
She loved to travel and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada by car visiting every state except Washington and Oregon.
Jane was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, John G. Richards Sr. in 2004; grandson, Zachary Richards and two sisters, Catherine Kleiwer and Helen Mazurek, and son-in law Mike Uhrin Sr.
She is survived by her son, John Richards, Jr and his wife Leslie of Albion, Indiana and daughters, Jane Uhrin of Freeland and Robin Reilly and her husband, Bill, of White Haven. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 10:30 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 403 Berwick St. White Haven with Rev. David Botzer officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Cemetery, White Haven.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until time of service at the funeral home.
