EDWARD GOWER

Edward R. Gower, 79, of East Side Borough, died Sunday morning, July 8, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Hazleton.

Born in White Haven, he was the son of the late Albert L. and Anna Balog Gower and was a graduate of Weatherly High School.  Ed served his country in the United States Army and was employed by Hickory Run State Park.

Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an avid Phillies Fan and a social member at Kidder Fire Dept.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his siblings, George Gower and Shirley Puk.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Colleen L. Berger Gower; son, Edward Gower Jr and his wife, Jessica, East Side Borough; his grandchildren, whom he adored and loved spending time with, Lilah and Elsie; siblings, Mary Knouse, Hatboro; Margaret Murphy, Bethlehem; Agnes Gallagher, White Haven; Albert Gower, Weatherly; Linda Weiss, Roswell, NM; nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, July11, 2018, at 10:00 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 403 Berwick St. White Haven. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Albrightsville.

Friends may visit from 4 to 6 pm on Tuesday, July 10, 108 at the funeral home and Wednesday from 9:30 am until time of service.
