Catherine C. Schoch, 94, of East Side Borough, also know as OMA by her friends and family, died Saturday afternoon, November 3, 2018, in Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre, where she was a guest for a month.
Born the daughter of the late Wendell and Johanna VanDerheyden Sep, she was a survivor of the 4 years Nazi occupation of Holland, during World War II and later met and married her husband and true love of 26 years. Catherine worked as a nurses aide at White Haven Center for 17 years and following her retirement, worked another 15 years as a private duty aide for many local seniors.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Weatherly and had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Roger E. Schoch, Sr; sons, Roger E. Schoch, Jr; Wendell Schoch; granddaughter, Pamela Schoch; brother, Casey Sep and sister, Johanna DeVreis.
Catherine was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and left to cherish her memory is son, Rudolph “Rudy” and his wife, Terri Schoch, East Side Borough; grandsons, Roger Schoch and his wife, Tracy, White Haven; Christopher Schoch and his wife, Alyssa, Bloomsburg; great grandson, Roger Robert Schoch and niece, Joanne MacNeal.
At her request, there will be no public services.
