BRIAN GALLAGHER Obituary

Brian Gallagher, 54, died at his Mountaintop home on July 15 after a long illness.

He is survived by his wife, the former Connie Birk, son John Michael, and daughter Kelly Mae.

Brian was the fifth child of Mary and the late John P. Gallagher of White Haven. He attended White Haven Elementary School and was a 1982 graduate of Bishop Hafey High School in Hazleton. After graduating from Lincoln Tech, Brian built a career in the mobile phone industry, serving most recently as a manager with AT&T.

Brian had exceptionally good mechanical ability and was known for being able to fix anything. From childhood on, he was a car guy, helping his dad and the late Brickie Nanstiel with many automotive projects, antique and contemporary. Every year, he looked forward to the Daytona 500 which marked the end of winter by his calendar. Brian also enjoyed camping and jet skiing with his wife and family. He had a special fondness for the youngest family members, who were drawn to him in turn.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his father, by his brother, Michael Gallagher in 2010.

In addition to his wife and children, Brian is survived by his mother Mary Gallagher, siblings Ann Gallagher (Michael Degitz), Sheila Weaver, Mary Lee Gallagher (Dave Lloyd), Shawn Gallagher (Katie), and Melissa Hudock (Mike), and the following nieces and nephews: Sarah and Charlie Weaver; Rory Gallagher; Ashley Shirley Sullivan; Laura and Claire Degitz; Megan and Rachael Hudock; Tim, Kate, and Jackie Gallagher.
