JOHN E. CHMIOLA SR.

John E. Chmiola, Sr., 78, of Mountain Top, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John J. and Stella Sproch Chmiola and was employed as a Welder. He was a member of the Sheet Metal workers Local 44 and St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre. He had a love for classic cars and enjoyed watching sports.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded by sister, Clara McCoy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy A. Beline Chmiola; children, John E. Chmiola, Jr (Lisa) Swoyersville; Diane Chmiola (Jerry), Edwardsville; James Chmiola (Beth), Plains; Joanne Chmiola, Plains; Sandra Troyan (Al), Wilkes-Barre; Karen Chmiola, Plains; David Chmiola, Plains; Daniel Chmiola, Mountain Top; Jacklyn Chmiola, Mountain Top; 18 grandchildren, John, Ryan, Jennifer, Jerry, Jimmy, Erin, Crystal, Suzanne, John, Trey, Gary, Samantha, Josh, Rebecca, Christopher, Nicholas, Gabe, Ben; 9 great grandchildren, Jason, Jakob, Jason, Reagan, Jordan, Joey, James, Emma and Jace; sisters, Ruth Evans, SC and Jean Chmiola, Wilkes-Barre, nieces and nephews.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, April 16, 2018, at 10:00 am in St. Nicholas Church, 226 South Washington St., Wilkes-Barre.
