ANGIE ANGELINA CHAPASKO RN Obituary

Angelina Chapasko RN, of Ashley, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, following a brief illness.

 

Born in Wilkes-Barre she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Angela Lukasik Chapasko and was a graduate of Ashley High School. She furthered her education by graduating from the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing; Columbia University where she earned her Bachelors Degree and Wilkes College, now Wilkes University, where she earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing Education.

 

Angie was employed as a Registered Nurse for Mount Siani Hospital, NYC; the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital; Children’s Service Center and most recently for Northeast Counseling.

 

A woman of faith, Angie was a devoted Catholic and life long member of St. Leo/Holy Rosary Parish, Ashley, where she attended Daily Mass. She was a loyal member St. Leo's/Holy Rosary and its Altar and Rosary Society; Rosary Group, Cyrenians Organization. She served as Lector, Extraordinary Minister of Communion and volunteered for the Summer Festival. One thing she was most proud of and the joy of her life, was being a First Grade CCD Teacher for 43 years. Angie was a loyal friend, never had a negative thing to say, was never without a smile on her face and was always there to lend a helping hand.

Angie was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her siblings, Connie, Mary, Andrew and Carole Abbott.

 

She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by many family and friends, mostly by her loving brother, Jackson Chapasko, Ashley. She is also survived by nephews, Andrew, Mark and Brian Chapasko.

 

Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 9:30 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Leo/Holy Rosary Church, 33 Manhattan Street, Ashley. Reverend Vincent Dang and dear friend, Reverend John Chmil will officiate.

 

Graveside Committal service will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

 

Visitation for family and friends, who have enriched her life along the way, will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, March 16, 2018 and on Saturday morning from 9:00 am until time of service.

 

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to St. Leo's/Holy Rosary Parish, Ashley or charity of donor's choice.
